Project Planner – 12 month contract (Portsmouth)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Planner to join a leading defence and aerospace client on a 12‑month contract based in Portsmouth. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining detailed project schedules and supporting the delivery of key project data.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and deliver top‑level, lower-level and Integrated Project Team (IPT) schedules.
• Analyse project costs against forward load and track resources.
• Monitor payment milestones, risk registers and change‑control items.
• Consolidate management data, produce monthly and quarterly reports for senior leadership.
• Create and maintain standardised schedule and reporting templates.
• Provide project administration support to the Project Manager and the wider team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, logic checking, earned‑value and risk management.
• Strong understanding of planning best practices such as logic linking, resource scheduling, schedule health checks, critical‑path analysis and work‑breakdown structures.
• Familiarity with project‑management methodologies and contingency planning to stage boundaries.
