Project Quality Advisor (Construction/Energy)

About the role

Balfour Beatty Energy is seeking a Project Quality Advisor to support the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) programme in Peterhead. You will work closely with construction and delivery teams to ensure "right first time" delivery, complying with internal systems, contractual obligations and external standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of project and business unit Quality Action Plans.
• Implement and maintain quality management plans, including Contract Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Drive QA/QC compliance across civil engineering and construction activities.
• Conduct internal and supplier audits, manage reporting and close‑out.
• Support external certification and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Challenge existing processes and promote continual improvement.
• Provide practical quality coaching and advice to site and project teams.
• Assist with root‑cause analysis and capture Cost of Poor Quality.
• Contribute quality input to tenders and bid submissions.
• Produce quality reports and management information.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within construction, energy, infrastructure or civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and project teams.
• Confident communicator with stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to attain or hold CQI Practitioner status.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal auditing.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
