Psychology Graduate – Behaviour & Learning Support (Wirral)

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time position offers Psychology graduates the chance to work directly within secondary schools on the Wirral. You will support pupils with social, emotional, behavioural and additional learning needs, gaining practical experience that is valuable for future careers in educational psychology, teaching, counselling or mental health.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help students develop emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Assist with tailored interventions for pupils with SEND, SEMH or communication challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN teams and pastoral staff to remove barriers to learning.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils to improve engagement and wellbeing.
• Observe, record and report behavioural patterns to inform support strategies.
• Promote an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Required profile

• A degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
• Passion for working with children and young people.
• Strong communication, empathy and relationship‑building abilities.
• Patient, proactive and resilient attitude.
• Interest in SEND, mental health or behaviour support.
• Willingness to obtain a valid enhanced DBS.
