Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑Time)

About the role

This full‑time position is for a recent Psychology graduate who wants hands‑on experience supporting children in a mainstream primary school. You will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to help pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group interventions for pupils with additional learning needs.
• Support children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, resources and behaviour management strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to teaching staff.
• Help pupils build confidence, resilience and independence.

Required profile

• Recent Psychology graduate from a UK university (Russell Group graduates strongly encouraged).
• Passion for child development, learning and behaviour support.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and SEN specialists.

Required skills

• Understanding of basic principles of autism, ADHD, speech‑language needs and SEMH.
• Ability to deliver tailored interventions in a classroom setting.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with pupils.
