Public Law Associate Solicitor – Family Department

About the role

Our client is a well‑established family law practice in Bolton seeking an experienced Public Law Associate Solicitor. You will lead a caseload of care and public law matters, providing high‑quality advice and representation while contributing to the department’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of care and public law cases from instruction to conclusion.
• Undertake advocacy work where appropriate.
• Supervise and support members of the public law team.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior colleagues.
• Assist the Head of Department in team management and departmental development.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in public law.
• Children Panel Accreditation.
• Proven track record of managing care and public law cases.
• Strong advocacy, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Professional, client‑focused attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Access to a car for business travel.
