QA Engineer / Tester – Innovative Pensions Platform

About the role

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join a small, collaborative development team building an innovative pensions platform. This will be the first dedicated QA position, responsible for shaping quality practices, reducing risk, and ensuring stable releases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the platform and its core user workflows.
• Design and execute test strategies focused on high‑risk, business‑critical areas.
• Create and maintain clear, reusable regression test scenarios.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and unexpected behaviours.
• Introduce lightweight, effective QA processes suited to a fast‑moving team.
• Reduce reliance on manual SME testing by capturing and formalising knowledge.
• Improve defect reporting, triage, and communication across the team.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure testability and early quality considerations.
• Identify automation opportunities and build automated tests for high‑value areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer or Tester in a software development environment.
• Comfortable working in a complex, evolving product landscape.
• Hands‑on attitude with the ability to balance immediate testing needs and longer‑term quality improvements.
