Qualified Practice Accountant (ICAEW/ACCA)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Practice Accountant to join our growing team in the South East. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to work with owner‑managed businesses across the UK, delivering audit and accounting services while developing your career.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver audit and accounts assignments for SME clients.
• Execute tasks under the direction of managers or partners.
• Supervise and review the work of junior staff.
• Prepare and submit working schedules promptly.
• Maintain effective client communication throughout engagements.

Required profile

• ACCA or ICAEW qualified with 3‑10 years of practice experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Interest in owner‑managed businesses and commercial awareness.
• Professional, courteous attitude and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Financial reporting standards and statutory audit.
• Statutory tax and VAT reporting.
• Management accounting.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and optional IFRS.
• Proficiency with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and familiarity with IRIS.
• Budget preparation and time‑tracking against budgets.
