Quality Control Inspector (Precision Engineering)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Inspector to join a specialist engineering company that designs and manufactures high‑precision components. Working in a modern, clean facility in Swindon, you will ensure that every part meets exacting quality standards before it progresses through production.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect precision‑engineered components throughout the manufacturing process.
• Carry out first‑off, in‑process and final quality checks using a range of measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and tolerances.
• Check dimensions, finishes and critical features against inspection criteria.
• Identify defects, record non‑conformances and escalate issues as required.
• Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Ensure full traceability of components and inspection records.
• Support investigations into quality issues and assist with corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians and production teams to resolve quality concerns.

Required profile

• Previous experience in quality control, inspection or a similar engineering role within precision engineering or manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians and production staff.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Use of precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM).
• Understanding of dimensional tolerances and inspection criteria.
• Knowledge of calibration requirements for measurement tools.
