Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join a well‑established precision engineering business in Abingdon. The role will focus on ensuring products meet strict quality standards while supporting operators, suppliers and customers across a range of technical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manufacturing quality control, inspection reporting and final inspection documentation.
• Manage non‑conformances, customer complaints, 8D and 5 Why investigations.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality issues and provide technical support.
• Interpret mechanical engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Maintain calibration systems and operate CMM equipment.
• Support audits, ISO 9000 compliance and continuous improvement of inspection techniques.

Required profile

• Qualified Quality Engineer or equivalent experience in mechanical or manufacturing quality.
• Strong knowledge of inspection techniques, GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Experience handling non‑conformances, supplier quality issues and customer complaints.
• Ability to work on site in Abingdon and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
