Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in Dartford. You will manage the financial side of a diverse portfolio of fencing and perimeter security projects for leading contractors and end‑users across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fencing and perimeter security projects.
• Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment.
• Monitor, chase and secure payments from clients.
• Identify, price and recover project variations.
• Produce monthly cost and work‑in‑progress reports.
• Assist with forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Review and administer JCT contracts.
• Manage subcontractor accounts where required.
• Support the commercial team in achieving project profitability targets.
• Attend project and client meetings as needed.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience working for a main contractor or subcontractor.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Proven ability to manage projects through the full commercial lifecycle.
• Excellent variation management and payment recovery skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Good communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proactive and organised approach to workload management.
• Experience in fencing, perimeter security, groundworks or a related specialist subcontracting environment is advantageous.
