Quantity Surveyor – East West Rail

About the role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the East West Rail team in St Neots. You will work within a collaborative, experienced group to manage the commercial side of this major infrastructure project, ensuring value, profitability and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with contract valuations, submit payment applications promptly and compile final accounts.
• Lead sub‑contractor management from enquiry through to completion, including tender analysis and order drafting.
• Work closely with the Project Manager on cost control, forecasting site expenditure to completion.
• Identify and raise contract changes via Early Warnings and Compensation Events, supporting risk and change management.
• Provide leadership and development support to junior commercial staff.

Required profile

• Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Previous Quantity Surveyor experience, preferably with a Tier 1 main contractor.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and a strong affinity for working with data.
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Organised, able to manage time and juggle multiple priorities.
