Quantity Surveyor

About the role

South West Water is seeking a commercially‑focused Quantity Surveyor to join its Commercial Team in Bristol. You will support the management and control of high‑volume reactive Repair & Maintenance network contracts and other operational contracts, ensuring accurate cost validation and contract compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review, challenge and certify contractor payment applications in line with contract terms.
• Validate Defined Cost submissions and assess target cost build‑ups.
• Track actual expenditure against budgets, identifying efficiencies.
• Administer NEC contracts, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Maintain contract risk registers and support financial forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
• Provide analysis to aid business decision‑making and stakeholder communication.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial management of construction or infrastructure contracts.
• Strong understanding of NEC contract procedures.
• Ability to analyse costs, budgets and financial data accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
