About the role
Hill Group UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Special Projects team in Basingstoke. You will manage the commercial and financial elements of residential developments, ensuring costs are controlled and value is maximised.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and manage accurate cash flows, cost plans and contract sum analyses.
- Procure and administer subcontractor packages, including valuations, payments and final accounts.
- Produce monthly cost value reconciliations, forecasts and outturn summaries.
- Identify and deliver cost‑saving and value‑engineering opportunities.
- Lead commercial discussions with subcontractors and support client final accounts.
Required profile
- Relevant qualification (HND/HNC or degree) in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
- Working towards or holding RICS or CIOB membership.
- Experience as a Quantity or Contract Surveyor in residential development.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent numeracy.
Required skills
- Proficiency in remeasurement, cost reporting and risk analysis.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Familiarity with groundworks, piling, reinforced‑concrete frame and brickwork.
