Quantity Surveyor – Landscaping Services

About the role

The role involves managing the commercial aspects of a variety of landscaping projects, from initial cost planning through to final account settlement. You will work closely with project managers, site teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered on budget and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, feasibility studies, tender documentation and accurate cost estimates based on drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
• Source, negotiate and manage subcontractors and suppliers for both soft and hard landscaping works, administering JCT, NEC or bespoke subcontract agreements.
• Monitor project budgets, cash flow and forecasts, producing interim valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and sustainability standards.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and consultants, attending site and client meetings to support smooth project delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within external works, maintenance, landscaping or facilities management.
• Strong numeracy and analytical abilities with a focus on commercial performance.
• Confident communicator capable of managing client and subcontractor relationships.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and eager to improve processes within a growing business.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Cost management software (e.g., CostX, WinQS or similar).
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contract administration.
