R&D Electronics Engineer – Medical Devices

About the role

CooperSurgical (CSI) is seeking an R&D Electronics Engineer to join its Falmouth, UK team. You will work on electro‑mechanical systems for fertility and broader women’s health devices, contributing to both new product development and sustaining engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design electrical systems for IVF and ART equipment.
• Drive verification and validation testing, ensuring compliance with IEC 60601 EMC and safety standards.
• Produce and maintain medical device documentation and risk‑management files.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver projects on tight timelines.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in medical device production.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to work onsite.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Analog and digital circuit design and layout using Altium Schematic Capture.
• Hardware/software integration and debugging with lab instruments.
• Hands‑on circuit building, soldering, and prototype fabrication.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
• Strong technical documentation and protocol writing abilities.
