Real Estate Finance Solicitor

About the role

Join a respected in‑house legal team in Leeds, providing commercially focused advice on high‑value commercial property and finance transactions. You will work alongside credit, investment and asset‑management teams on complex, market‑leading deals.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on non‑contentious commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and asset‑management matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial property documentation.
• Provide advice on real estate finance and property‑backed lending transactions.
• Draft and negotiate finance, security and ancillary documentation.
• Manage transactions from instruction through to completion, identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Credit, Investment, Asset Management and Direct Lending teams.
• Deliver commercially focused legal advice that supports business objectives.
• Develop legal precedents, templates and internal processes while building strong relationships with clients, colleagues and external advisers.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in commercial real estate and real estate finance.
• Proven track record advising on non‑contentious commercial property matters and secured lending transactions.
• Skilled in drafting and negotiating commercial property, finance and security documentation.
• Ability to manage transactions from start to finish with strong stakeholder management.
• Commercially minded, detail‑oriented and capable of handling multiple priorities.
• Experience gained in private practice, an in‑house legal team or a comparable legal environment.
