Registered Manager – Children’s Home (Liverpool)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead a solo children’s residential home in Liverpool, providing high‑quality care for a young person with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to shape a therapeutic, trauma‑informed environment and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Ofsted registration and ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
• Provide day‑to‑day operational leadership, overseeing care planning, risk assessments, behaviour support and placement stability.
• Lead, motivate and develop the residential care team, promoting a therapeutic and trauma‑informed approach.
• Manage staffing, budgets and resources effectively.
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
• Monitor quality assurance, audits and drive improvements to achieve and sustain an Ofsted ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager in a children’s residential setting.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent Ofsted‑recognised qualification).
• In‑depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
• Passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
