Registered Manager for Children's Residential Home

About the role

Prospero Health & Social Care is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Newhaven, East Sussex. You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the residential home, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards.
• Lead, develop and motivate a dedicated care team to deliver high‑quality, child‑centred services.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage recruitment, training and performance reviews.
• Coordinate safeguarding procedures and respond to any concerns promptly.
• Build strong partnerships with local authorities, schools, healthcare providers and families.
• Prepare the home for regular inspections and ensure continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in children’s residential care, preferably as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for children.
