Registered Mental Health Nurse – CAMHS Ward

About the role

Join Cygnet Hospital Bury as a Registered Mental Health Nurse on a CAMHS ward, providing specialist care to children and adolescents. You will work a full‑time schedule across days, nights and weekends, supporting service users through assessment, treatment and discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop services, conduct audits and improve quality.
• Attend training and engage in CPD to maintain up‑to‑date nursing knowledge.
• Maintain individual care plans in line with NMC guidelines, involving residents, relatives and multidisciplinary teams.
• Administer prescribed medicines following healthcare procedures and commission guidelines.

Required profile

• Current UK NMC PIN number and registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
• Experience working in mental health settings, familiar with the Mental Health Act 1983.
• Ability to produce thorough documentation and undertake audits.
• Resilient, compassionate and able to support service‑user independence.
• Willingness to deputise in a clinical lead role when required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NMC standards and Mental Health Act 1983.
• Competence in medication administration and clinical documentation.
• Understanding of CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, acute and low‑secure services.
