Registered Mental Health Nurse – Low & Medium Secure Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a committed Registered Mental Health Nurse to join a leading UK healthcare provider in a low and medium secure hospital serving male patients aged 18+ detained under the Mental Health Act. The role involves delivering high‑quality mental health care within a secure environment and supporting patients through extended treatment and rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence‑based care to patients with mental illness and personality disorders.
• Develop therapeutic relationships to encourage patient engagement and recovery.
• Contribute to patient assessments, care planning, and ongoing monitoring of progress.
• Lead shifts, mentor student nurses, and support multidisciplinary team members.
• Adhere to all professional codes, standards, legislation, and ethical practices.

Required profile

• Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current, active NMC PIN.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work in a secure hospital setting.
• Positive, caring attitude with a commitment to high‑quality, evidence‑based care.
