Registered Mental Health Nurse – Low Secure Hospital (Ayr, Scotland)

About the role

This permanent role is for a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or RNLD Nurse to join a low‑secure mental health hospital serving adults with mental illness and personality disorders in the Ayr area. You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑standard nursing care to patients with mental health and personality disorders.
• Develop therapeutic relationships to promote patient engagement and recovery.
• Contribute to comprehensive patient assessments, care planning and ongoing monitoring.
• Lead shifts, mentor student nurses and support junior staff as required.
• Adhere to all professional codes, legislation and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Qualified RMN or RNLD Nurse with a current active NMC PIN.
• Commitment to patient‑centred, values‑based and evidence‑based practice.
• Self‑motivated, flexible and able to work both day and night shifts.
• Willingness to pursue continuous learning and professional development.
