Registered Nurse/Paramedic – Bank Shifts in Staines

About the role

Mountain Healthcare is seeking experienced Registered Nurses and Paramedics to join its forensic custody healthcare team in Staines. This bank position offers autonomy, variety and the chance to work directly with police and criminal‑justice partners, providing clinical care to detainees in custody.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical and capacity assessments for detainees.
• Manage acute health presentations, emergencies and mental‑health crises.
• Provide injury assessment, collect evidential samples and maintain accurate clinical/legal records.
• Support detainees with substance‑misuse, safeguarding and mental‑health needs.
• Offer professional statements, attend court when required and liaise with NHS and partner agencies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Paramedic (HCPC) with at least 3 years post‑registration experience in an acute or urgent‑care setting.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, high‑risk environment and demonstrate sound clinical judgement.
• Willingness to undertake accredited forensic training and development programmes.
