Remote New Patient Nurse – Medical Cannabis

About the role

We are seeking a Remote New Patient Nurse to join our digital‑first clinical team. You will lead pre‑assessment consultations with prospective patients, gathering essential medical information to support safe prescribing decisions for medical cannabis treatments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct video‑based pre‑assessment consultations, collecting detailed medical histories, current medications, and family health backgrounds.
• Assess patient suitability for referral to specialist consultants and document clinical reasoning.
• Provide clear guidance on the onboarding journey and answer initial treatment questions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, audit‑ready patient records in line with NMC standards and internal governance.
• Collaborate with consultants, prescribing pharmacists, and patient operations to ensure smooth handovers.
• Contribute to improving pre‑assessment protocols, scripts, and triage tools.
• Participate in clinical governance, MDT meetings, and CPD‑accredited training.
• Screen for safeguarding concerns, patient vulnerability, and capacity issues, escalating as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC registered) with a UK nursing qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑registration clinical experience.
• Commitment to maintaining NMC revalidation in good standing throughout employment.
• Ability to complete an enhanced DBS check prior to start.
• Completion of mandatory training including safeguarding, medicines management, and information governance.
