Residential Childcare Trainer/Assessor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Residential Childcare Trainer/Assessor to deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment for Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications. The role blends remote delivery with face‑to‑face support and requires travel across the North West region. You will manage a caseload of around 50 learners, guiding them from induction to successful completion.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and assess Residential Childcare qualifications up to Level 5.
• Plan and deliver engaging blended learning sessions.
• Provide tailored teaching and assessment to meet individual learner needs.
• Manage a caseload of ~50 learners, ensuring timely progression and achievement.
• Conduct initial assessments, create Individual Learning Plans, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Maintain accurate learner records, e‑portfolios and compliance documentation.
• Engage with employers and managers to support learner development.
• Prepare for and support internal and external quality assurance activities.
• Travel across the North West to conduct in‑person learner visits and regional meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Trainer/Assessor or senior Residential Childcare professional.
• Ability to deliver Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications and support learners to meet occupational standards.
• Experience managing a sizable learner caseload and producing accurate records.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with learners, employers and quality bodies.
• Willingness to travel regionally as required.
