Revenue Assurance & Protection Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Revenue Assurance & Protection Specialist to join a growing utilities organisation in Leeds. You will use analytical expertise to investigate complex gas and electricity accounts, identify revenue loss, and protect the business while delivering positive outcomes for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate complex gas and electricity accounts where revenue loss or irregular activity has been identified.
• Analyse billing information, consumption trends and smart‑meter data to uncover discrepancies and potential energy theft.
• Produce accurate consumption calculations, billing amendments and back‑bill estimates in line with industry regulations.
• Coordinate investigations with metering providers, field engineers and external partners, arranging meter exchanges, inspections and safety visits.
• Communicate investigation outcomes clearly with customers, handling sensitive conversations professionally and empathetically.
• Collaborate with Billing, Collections, Customer Services, Legal and Fraud teams to achieve successful case resolutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, minimise revenue leakage and share best practice across the team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in revenue assurance, revenue protection, fraud prevention, investigations or a regulated utilities environment.
• Experience working within the gas, electricity or wider utilities sector.
• Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting consumption data and identifying unusual account activity.
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence managing complex cases independently.

• Competitive salary range £28,000‑£40,000 per annum (DOE).
• Hybrid working model – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.
