Risk Advisory Manager / Senior Risk Advisory Manager

About the role

Norton Rose Fulbright is hiring a permanent Risk Advisory Manager (or Senior Risk Advisory Manager) in London for its Corporate Team FS practice. The practice offers technical risk and compliance advisory focused on regulatory risk, working with financial services clients and with colleagues across EMEA and other global markets. The role sits within the Financial Services Partnership and reports to the Managing Director of Risk Advisory (EMEA).

Key responsibilities

• Help deliver the strategy for the Risk Advisory practice, collaborate with colleagues in other global offices and mentor and train team members.
• Support risk and compliance advisory, assurance and remediation engagements with clients in the UK and internationally.
• Contribute to and lead business development to strengthen the practice's client base and win regulatory and risk-focused projects.
• Identify and pursue commercial opportunities using industry and consulting experience, and support cross-departmental opportunities.
• Maintain, service and develop client relationships.

Required profile

• Broad risk, regulatory and compliance experience in wholesale/asset management (buy and/or sell-side) or commercial/retail financial services and payments providers.
• Experience gained from a consulting business, financial institution or regulator.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, with robust and sustainable solutions.
• Willingness to work outside immediate areas of expertise with supervision, and to work flexibly on competing priorities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the UK/European financial services regulatory regime in practice, applied to wholesale or retail markets.
• Clear, precise written and verbal communication, including drafting and use of PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders and work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
