Road Export Operator – European Overland Shipments

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Road Export Operator to manage European overland shipments for a well‑established freight forwarder in Leeds. You will own the end‑to‑end process of road export trailers, build carrier relationships and influence operational profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of European road export trailers (FTL, LTL, groupage).
• Liaise with hauliers across the UK and Europe, negotiate rates and secure capacity.
• Prepare accurate export documentation, including T‑forms, CMRs and post‑Brexit customs paperwork.
• Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, providing real‑time updates and resolving route issues.
• Control job costing and profit margins to ensure profitable trailer operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in UK road freight forwarding or trailer operations.
• Strong knowledge of European road networks, driver regulations and post‑Brexit customs.
• Familiarity with freight management platforms such as CargoWise or MultiFreight.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and ability to work in a dynamic team.
