Road Freight Operator

About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated Road Freight Operator to join a growing logistics team in Bristol. The role is hybrid and offers the chance to manage customer accounts, coordinate bookings and build strong relationships in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated set of customer accounts.
• Handle all aspects of bookings, including quoting and arranging transport.
• Provide accurate spot quotes and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Maintain customer relationships, ensuring a high level of service.
• Process invoices and resolve invoice‑related queries.
• Respond to phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
• Support the wider operations team as required.

Required profile

• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
• Reliable, proactive and eager to learn.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• 3–5 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics, preferably within road freight or transport operations.
• Basic knowledge of customs procedures (desirable).

Required skills

• Confidence using IT systems and handling documentation.
