Rotational Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

Great Ormond Street Hospital is seeking enthusiastic pharmacists to join a dedicated team of Rotational Clinical Pharmacists. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers two cover options – maternity cover until August 2027 and secondment cover until July 2027 – and provides a unique opportunity to develop expertise across a range of paediatric specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through specialist areas such as Neurology, Surgery, Renal, Endocrinology/Metabolic, Gastroenterology, Intensive Care, Immunology, Rheumatology/Dermatology and Parenteral Nutrition.
• Participate in commissioning, governance, digital projects and operational activities including dispensary work.
• Support senior specialist pharmacists in new‑drug assessments and clinical guideline development.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and patient‑focused pharmacy services.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with a strong clinical background.
• Motivated to work within a specialist paediatric environment.
• Ability to adapt to varied therapeutic rotations and collaborate with senior staff.
• Commitment to the NHS values of fairness, diversity and inclusion.

Required skills

• Parenteral Nutrition (PN) knowledge.
• Experience in clinical guideline development.
• Understanding of pharmacy dispensing and operational processes.
