About the role
The Premier League is looking for Safety and Security Observers (SSOs) to join its dedicated programme. SSOs will be deployed to stadiums across the league’s 20 clubs for both weekday and weekend fixtures, working closely with each club’s Ground Safety Officer and safety team.
Key responsibilities
- Attend matchday deployments as allocated, gathering quantitative and qualitative data on safety and security operations.
- Produce a structured report for each fixture, highlighting good practice, areas for development, and a narrative assessment of incidents.
- Participate in pre‑match planning meetings and post‑match debriefs with club personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of observations and ensure timely submission of reports.
Required profile
- Willingness to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel to various club locations across the UK.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Excellent written communication skills for report production.
Required skills
- Experience in safety or security observation, crowd management, or related fields.
- Familiarity with stadium environments and matchday operations.
