Sales Assistant – Retail (30 hrs/week)

About the role

Join Topps Tiles as a Sales Assistant in Dorchester, working 30 hours per week in a vibrant retail environment. You will help customers visualise their home projects, recommend the right tiles, and support them through the purchase journey.

Key responsibilities

• Build lasting relationships with trade and retail customers using a consultative sales approach.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer needs and suggest suitable products.
• Use creativity to inspire customers with colour, style, layout and design ideas.
• Drive sales through expert product knowledge and confident closing techniques.
• Assist with store duties, including handling stock and lifting heavy boxes when required.

Required profile

• Friendly, outgoing and energetic personality.
• Ability to work well in a small team and put the customer first.
• Willingness to learn about tiles and retail processes.
• Availability to work some weekends and enjoy three days off at Christmas.

Required skills

• Strong communication and listening abilities.
• Basic numeracy for handling sales transactions.
• Problem‑solving mindset to match products with customer needs.
