Sales Key Account Manager – UK & Ireland

About the role

The Sales Key Account Manager will manage a portfolio of strategically important customer accounts across the UK, Ireland and overseas subsidiaries. You will act as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, driving growth through retention, upselling and new commercial opportunities while delivering exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts as the main point of contact.
• Identify and pursue account growth opportunities through renewals, cross‑selling and upselling.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance and Customer Service to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Define customer expectations, account scope and commercial agreements.
• Monitor account performance against objectives and implement account plans.
• Coordinate meetings, keep accurate records and follow up on actions.
• Escalate potential risks within accounts as needed.
• Support the sales team and local service managers to meet commercial targets.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK, Ireland and overseas subsidiaries.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, including Salesforce, and produce performance reports.
• Contribute to customer retention, revenue growth and referral opportunities.
• Represent the business professionally during client visits and ensure high customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in key account or commercial account management.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities and drive revenue.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the UK, Ireland and occasionally abroad.
