School Caretaker (Full‑time, Term‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable School Caretaker to join a secondary school in the Wirral area on a full‑time, term‑time basis. The role begins in September 2026 and offers a supportive environment where you will help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming school setting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school premises.
• Ensure health, safety and security procedures are followed and documented.
• Assist with setting up and clearing school events and activities.
• Log maintenance requests and complete compliance checks using basic IT systems.
• Support safeguarding duties and promote the welfare of pupils.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor or facilities role.
• Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to manage a variety of tasks during term time and occasional holidays.
• Commitment to child safeguarding and health & safety standards.

Required skills

• Basic maintenance and repair skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety and security procedures.
• Basic IT skills for logging and reporting.
