Science Technician – Secondary School

About the role

We are partnering with an inclusive secondary school in Hounslow to recruit a dedicated Science Technician. You will provide practical and technical support to the science department, ensuring lessons run smoothly and laboratories remain safe and well‑stocked.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare practical materials and equipment for science lessons.
• Support teachers during experiments and practical activities.
• Maintain laboratory areas, equipment, and resources to a high standard.
• Assist with stock management and ordering of supplies.
• Follow health and safety procedures and keep accurate records.
• Ensure laboratories are organised and ready for daily use.
• Collaborate with the science department to support effective teaching.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a science, laboratory or technical role (desirable).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
