Secondary Teaching Assistant – Burnley Schools

About the role

Veritas Education is looking for enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to support a range of secondary schools in Burnley from September 2026. This role offers the chance to work directly with pupils, helping them achieve their academic and personal potential.

Key responsibilities

• Support students in the classroom to enhance learning and engagement.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver effective lessons and provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance.
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs and promote inclusive practices.
• Encourage positive behaviour, wellbeing and a supportive learning environment.
• Provide academic and social support throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, proactive and positive attitude.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
• Genuine passion for supporting secondary‑aged pupils.
