Section Engineer – Rail Infrastructure (Temporary)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a Tier‑1 contractor on a rail‑station project in Stockport. The role is temporary, full‑time and based on‑site, focusing on quality assessment, health‑and‑safety inspection and the management of subcontractors.
Key responsibilities
- Manage subcontractors and site engineers, ensuring efficient daily operations.
- Procure and order materials in line with project schedules.
- Carry out quality control and health‑and‑safety inspections of civil works.
- Produce and maintain weekly rolling programmes.
- Provide technical support to site engineers and raise queries as needed.
- Report progress and coordinate site activities.
Required profile
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in civil and rail projects, preferably on railway stations.
- Ability to work independently and start immediately.
- Eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom.
