Security Engineer

About the role

Barclays is looking for a Security Engineer to lead the development, implementation and maintenance of solutions that protect the bank’s systems and sensitive data. You will work on cutting‑edge DLP, IAM and cryptographic technologies to ensure robust security across our digital landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) services and policies.
• Drive service‑level incidents to remediation and coordinate with product vendors.
• Create and keep high‑quality security documentation.
• Engage with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and set expectations.
• Collaborate with other DLP subject‑matter experts to ensure coverage across tooling.
• Evaluate and implement technical changes and project deliverables.
• Provide expertise on security systems, cryptographic solutions and IAM implementations.
• Execute audits, identify vulnerabilities and support breach response.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the software security landscape (CVEs, CWEs, SAST, SCA, DAST).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java or Go.
• Experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Solid understanding of REST API design and HTTP authentication.
• Hands‑on Linux experience, including shell scripting and Python automation.
