Security Engineer

About the role

At SiXworks we develop secure digital solutions for defence and national security missions. As a Security Engineer you will design, build and deliver secure solutions in highly protected environments, ensuring reliable and fast decision‑making for critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage credential lifecycle: create, bulk‑import and rotate passwords, SSH keys and API keys, and verify Remote Password Changing (RPC) without service interruption.
• Run discovery scans across Active Directory and network segments to identify privileged and service accounts, and map their usage in Windows Services, Scheduled Tasks and IIS application pools.
• Monitor and maintain system security: apply patches, configure automated database backups, oversee Distributed Engines health, and ensure secrets are correctly bound to launchers.
• Administer Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC) by creating roles, folder structures and granular permissions.
• Generate and review audit logs, configure privileged session recording, and produce compliance reports.
• Troubleshoot firewall requests, load‑balancer configurations and resolve Remote Password Changing failures.
• Monitor active privileged sessions on high‑value assets such as Domain Controllers.
