Security Engineer – Network & Cybersecurity

About the role

We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our growing technical team in Redhill, Surrey. You will be responsible for the security, integrity and resilience of internal and customer networks, and will play a key role in protecting business‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement information security policies, standards and best practices.
• Monitor security tools and threat intelligence to assess posture and identify risks.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, alerts and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend improvements.
• Design, build and support security solutions such as SIEM and IDS/IPS.
• Provide cybersecurity expertise to internal engineering and IT teams.
• Produce and maintain security documentation, procedures and technical standards.
• Support incident management processes and act as an escalation point for complex issues.
• Deliver guidance, training and awareness activities across the business.

Required profile

• At least 5 years’ experience designing, implementing and managing secure network environments.
• Eligibility for Security Clearance (SC).
• Strong knowledge of ISO27001, GDPR and other security compliance frameworks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Cisco firewalls, routers and switches.
• SIEM platforms.
• IDS/IPS solutions.
• Vulnerability management tools.
• Penetration testing and security assessments.
• TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall technologies.
• Juniper networking technologies (desirable).
• Linux administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, Apache, MySQL) (desirable).

• Salary £50,000 – £52,500 per annum.
