Self-employed Passenger Assistant – 16 hrs/week

About the role

The HATS Group is seeking a self‑employed Passenger Assistant to escort and support clients with special needs during their daily journeys. Working up to 16 hours per week, you will ensure safe boarding, travel, and alighting for passengers travelling to homes, schools, or care centres.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with severe disabilities to board and alight vehicles safely, using tail‑lifts and safety restraints where required.
• Maintain continuous communication with the Controller, reporting any incidents, disruptive behaviour, or delays.
• Apply health and safety standards, securing wheelchairs and ensuring the vehicle interior and exterior remain clean and hygienic.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and uniform at all times.
• Work flexible hours, primarily between 07:00‑09:00 and 14:30‑16:30, and undertake additional duties as service needs dictate.

Required profile

• Ability to physically assist passengers with varying medical conditions.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures in a transport environment.
• Clear communication skills for interaction with clients, guardians, and the control team.
• Reliability and punctuality, with willingness to report any issues promptly.
