SEN Caseworker – Part‑time (Lewisham)

About the role

This part‑time SEN Caseworker position supports Lewisham's statutory SEN team, covering children from birth to Year 7. The role focuses on managing a caseload of children and settings, ensuring their Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a set caseload of children and educational settings.
• Coordinate new EHC needs assessments and draft/finalise EHC Plans.
• Conduct consultations with settings and families, and lead annual reviews.
• Oversee phase‑transfer processes and handle complex situations such as placement breakdowns.
• Prepare and present cases to multidisciplinary panels.
• Maintain excellent communication with families, schools, and external agencies.

Required profile

• Experience across statutory SEN casework, including EHC processes.
• Ability to quickly pick up role responsibilities; training provided on Lewisham‑specific systems.
• Strong organisational skills and capacity to manage complex, sensitive cases.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality support without supervising staff.
