SEN Cover Supervisor (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a Cover Supervisor with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) to support schools in Bath during teacher absences. The role is part‑time, covering school hours and focuses on maintaining a calm, structured learning environment for SEN pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes during short‑term teacher absence and keep students on task.
• Deliver pre‑set work, adapting activities to meet individual SEN needs.
• Plan and deliver differentiated learning activities, using specialist approaches as required.
• Support students in achieving their academic potential and monitor progress.
• Maintain records, evaluate progress, and assist with support‑plan implementation.
• Prepare students for tasks, pre‑teach content, and supervise practical activities.
• Carry out structured classroom assessments and provide feedback.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or specialist setting.
• Confident classroom behaviour management using positive behaviour support strategies.
• Patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and work independently.
• Hold a relevant degree; qualifications such as Team Teach, Positive Behaviour Support or SEND training are desirable.
