SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated graduate to join a primary school in Leeds as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. The role supports Key Stage 1 pupils with additional needs throughout the school day, offering a valuable stepping‑stone for aspiring teachers or educational psychologists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for KS1 pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Track and record pupil progress and share updates with the SENCo and class teachers.
• Deliver tailored interventions during Monday‑Friday school hours, adhering to term‑time schedules.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and the SEN coordinator to ensure inclusive learning environments.

Required profile

• 2:1 or higher degree in Psychology, Education Studies or a related discipline.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs.
• Previous experience working with SEN pupils is advantageous but not essential.
