SEN Provision Lead / Teacher – Autism Support Centre

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SEN Provision Lead/Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Basildon from September. You will head the school's Autism Support Centre, delivering high‑quality, personalised support for pupils with autism and additional special educational needs across Years 1‑6.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day provision within the Autism Support Centre.
• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning for pupils with autism and complex SEN.
• Provide leadership, guidance and direction to Learning Support Assistants.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, the Local Authority and external professionals.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and related documentation.
• Promote a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Significant experience working with children with autism and complex SEN.
• Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching practices.
• Experience leading or coordinating SEN provision and managing Learning Support Assistants.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Nurturing, resilient and collaborative approach.
