SEN Teaching Assistant – Aspiring Educational Psychologist

About the role
This full‑time, term‑time position supports a specialist Autism provision in a primary school in Witham. It is designed for a recent graduate who wishes to develop a career in educational psychology, therapy or related child‑development fields. You will work closely with SEN teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to help pupils with autism thrive academically and emotionally.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with autism, communication and sensory needs.
- Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour for learning and social development.
- Collaborate with SEN teachers, the SENCO and external specialists to deliver consistent interventions.
- Help pupils develop independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support plans.
Required profile
- First‑class or 2:1 degree from a reputable university.
- Strong academic background and passion for autism, child development and inclusive education.
- Calm, resilient and emotionally intelligent personality.
- Aspiring educational psychologist, therapist, teacher or SEN professional.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
