SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 7 to 19 with autism, behavioural and learning difficulties. You will work closely with the education, health, care and therapy teams to help each student achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering learning activities aligned with the curriculum and individual education plans.
• Supervise and support pupils during lessons, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Record pupil progress using the school’s assessment systems and provide feedback under teacher guidance.
• Promote positive behaviour, implement Proact Script strategies, and contribute to behaviour support plans.
• Build trusting relationships, support social‑emotional development, and help resolve peer conflicts.
• Prepare and maintain learning resources and assist pupils in using them.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Experience or strong interest in supporting children with SEND.
• Ability to follow safeguarding, health and safety policies.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proact Script (behaviour management system).
