SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Hackney)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hackney. You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am‑4:00 pm, supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them build confidence, independence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist with access to lessons and classroom activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Support personalised learning strategies and interventions.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor pupil progress.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children who have special educational needs.
• Understanding of the importance of patience, consistency and encouragement.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils quickly.
• Positive, proactive and caring attitude.
• Comfortable working as part of a supportive school team.
