Primary SEND Teacher – Specialist Autism School

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Primary SEND Teacher to join our specialist school in Hackney. You will work with primary‑aged pupils who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where each child can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with ASD.
• Create a structured, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Develop and implement individualised learning and support strategies.
• Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence.
• Manage behaviour positively using appropriate strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and families.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews, pupil progress meetings, and wider school initiatives.

Required profile

• A qualified teacher with primary teaching experience.
• Passionate about working with children with special educational needs.
• Experience in, or a strong desire to develop expertise in, autism education.
