SEN Teaching Assistant – Short & Long‑Term Cover

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to provide short‑ and long‑term cover in a thriving secondary school in Hastings. You will work closely with teachers and students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping learners stay engaged and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils in lessons across a range of subjects.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions, particularly for students with SEND.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and preparation of learning resources.
• Promote positive behaviour and inclusive classroom environments.
• Encourage academic, social and emotional development of students.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive attitude.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Passion for education and supporting young people.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
