About the role
The school is a specialist SEND institution in Greenwich seeking an enthusiastic SENCO to lead its special educational needs provision. The role starts in September and offers a day rate of £200‑£250.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic SEND plan across the school.
- Coordinate daily SEND support, ensuring high‑quality provision for all pupils.
- Maintain compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Advise teaching staff on inclusive strategies and monitor pupil progress.
- Oversee EHC plans, targeted interventions and individual support plans.
- Lead, train and evaluate the SEND team.
- Manage relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate SEND records, assessments and administration systems.
- Promote safeguarding and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Previous experience as a SENCO within a SEND provision.
- NASENCO qualification.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
